High School Ministry Purpose and Vision

Purpose

Our desire is to see every student live out LAEFC's mission of knowing, living, and sharing the heart of Jesus.  We want to see each youth accept Christ's saving grace and to grow in an intimate relationship with Him.

Vision

We desire to see every student...

  • Grow in an intimate relationship with the Lord through a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
  • Find support in a loving community.
  • Pursue Christ-likeness through the study of His Word and the building of relationships with mature Christians.
  • Develop a heart of worship that is honest and passionate.
  • Understand and act out what it means to be a godly servant.
  • Shine Christ's light to a dark and hurting world.

What To Expect

Weekly Events

Monday Evenings from 7:00–9:00pm

Discussion

Youth meet together for a study in the Word through cultural questions.  The study helps build a Biblical worldview for going through life.  These nights are designed to encourage every student to speak their mind.

Worship Night

Through this experience, youth strengthen their relationship with the Lord and each other by spending time praising the Lord through song and prayer.

Fun Night

Designed as an outreach to bring friends and connect them to Christ, students do something fun together such as a sports tournament, baking contest, ice skating, adventure races, scavenger hunts and more...

Life Groups

Leaders and students meet together in smaller groups.  It is within these smaller groups that people can be better at being intentional in building relationships by walking through life together.  Students will experience in depth Bible study, prayer times, and random fun activities.

Periodically throughout the year we will have a variety of different activities going on as well. These activities consist of service events, mission trips, retreats, all-nighters, day trips, and seasonal parties. Please be sure to check the calendar for any upcoming special events.

HSM Sunday School

S.M.T. | Sunday Morning Truth
Strengthening Your Foundation

Sunday Mornings from 10:30am–12pm

Our time in the beginning of SMT begins with all 6th-12th grade students collectively worshiping the Lord. After a time of fellowship, worship, and announcements students are divided into their smaller Sunday school classes.

For the summer quarter, all High School students will join together in the large group room to hear from speakers of how they live out their Christian faith.

Students participating in summer missions' trips will be in specific classes with their team.

Leaders

Our leaders play an integral part in making our youth ministry happen. All of our leaders receive training for interacting with our youth. They are also required to have completed the state police criminal check and a background check.

If you are interested in becoming a leader, we would love to talk with you. Please seek out Pastor Marc to discuss this opportunity.

Our Sr. High leaders consist of the following amazing volunteers: Rick Boyer, Shelly Erb, Lori Fischer, Gail Foster, Zach Martin, Kyle Myer, Juliette Forry, Erika Ebersole, Dru Stokrp, Jesse Vazquez, and Lorraine Truax.
